Our Building Program
Back in the early 1970's, Dr. Albert Anderson built his office at 66 N El Circulo in Patterson.
There he carried out his mission of providing care and healing for the people of Patterson, and also held occasional Sabbath Morning services in his office.
The building has served several functions since that time, including being a realty office, and a Stanislaus County Health Services center.
Now, we have the privilege of restoring the building back to the original purpose for which it was built.
Our dream is for this building to be a center of physical, mental and spiritual health as we transform it into our church, and the "Discover Life" community Center.
At this time, we need volunteers and donors to help us make this dream come true.
Our Sunday volunteer work bees have made significant progress, and we have had contractors put in the main beams for our building.
Now we are headed into completion of phase one, which includes everything but the kitchen and dining area.
Here's an update on our needs, and how you can participate with us in this mission!
Our Vision for the "Discover Life" Community Center and Patterson Seventh-day Adventist Church
We are a vital part of our community, following Jesus’ example of improving the physical, emotional and spiritual lives of our neighbors.
Our “Discover Life” mission thus far has included:
¨ Cooking schools
¨ Apricot Fiesta
¨ "One Day Sunday Mission Trips" with home cleaning and yard care assistance
¨ Health fairs
¨ 5K runs
¨ Youth activities
¨ Sabbath Morning Services
¨ Prophecy Seminars
¨ Small Group Ministries
In the center of town, directly across from the Post Office and just a block from the town circle where the Apricot Fiesta and other major city events are held, there is a building available to serve as a permanent center for our mission.
The Benefits of Owning this Location:
¨ Visibility & Accessibility
¨ Consistent Community Presence
¨ Establishment of a church home where our community will connect with a family that cares about them.
Future Plans Include:
¨ Positive ongoing activities for the children and youth of our community
¨ Extended seminars in areas such as diabetes, stress, and money management
¨ Utilization of our connection with Second Harvest to provide food resources for those in need.
